ARPITA  MUCHHAL

Arpita Muchhal, Principal of Arpita Muchhal Design LLC, grew up in India with a passion for art and architecture. There, she received a Bachelor of Architecture and Diploma in Business Management and worked on a number of residential and commercial projects before moving to the United States and Greater New York area in 1998.
A position at Silvester + Tafuro Design allowed her to execute projects in a large corporate setting, eventually leading her to a boutique design firm under the tutelage of Bruce Beinfeld. Working with Beinfeld, Arpita honed her skills in the nuances of New England architecture and perfected the ability to meld traditional forms with today’s lifestyle.
In 2008, she established her own design firm, Arpita Muchhal Design LLC, in Darien, CT. Her passion for sustainability led her to pursue her Leed AP over a decade ago. She is an active volunteer in the local community, serving in Darien town government and the boards of both the Darien Nature Center and the Darien Community Association.
As a parent volunteer, she started a movement for inclusivity through Passport Days at the Tokeneke and Ox Ridge schools. When she is not designing homes, Arpita can be found cooking and indulging her love of jewelry, furniture and lighting design in her 1750s Antique Colonial.
